Job overview

Joint Therapy services are pleased to invite applications from enthusiastic physiotherapists who want to join our friendly patient focused MSK team, as a Band 5 MSK Physiotherapist.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a keen interest in MSK, be motivated and passionate to progress within this field. We welcome applications from those already working in an MSK post as well as newly registered physiotherapists with a desire to specialise straight away.

We offer rotations within MSK across our acute and primary care teams, enabling you to build strong skills in assessment and treatment of a wide range of patient presentations. 

**We offer a relocation package of up to £8,000**

The relocation package is for anyone who would need to relocate in order to take up employment with Cheshire and Wirral Partnership.

To be eligible for the relocation payment, you must live more than 40 miles from the base/location of the post you are applying for and you would need to relocate to within 15 miles of the new base.

Main duties of the job

Work within the MSK Therapy team to deliver efficient and clinically effective care to your caseload of patients, using evidence-based practice to ensure that your patients can achieve the best possible outcomes.

 Undertake assessments, design, and implement treatment plans independently, to rehabilitate your patients who be mainly drawn from Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, and Primary care referrals, amongst other sources.

 Work towards the clinical competencies for your role, supported by regular clinical supervision, In-Service Training, Journal Club, and Preceptorship (where appropriate). 

Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records, will maintain your CPD portfolio, and will supervise the work of the Therapy Assistants

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree in physiotherapy or equivalent
  • HCPC Registration
Desirable criteria
  • Membership of professional body and specialist interest group5 MSK
  • Current full UK driving licence
  • Relevant student training course or qualification

Knowledge and Expertise

Essential criteria
  • Solid evidence of MSK interest and experience
  • Evidence of CPD and reflective practice
  • Knowledge of current best practice in specialist physiotherapy area
  • Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice
  • Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of professional conduct
  • Health, safety and risk awareness
  • Experience of undertaking reviews and amending action plans.
  • Evidence of audit and/or research work

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of group working and teamworking
  • Evidence of participation in health, safety and risk management
  • Broad range acquired at undergraduate/newly qualified level and solid NHS experience
Desirable criteria
  • Supervisory skills and/or first line of management experience
