Job overview
**This position is open to staff working at the Trust in the ‘ECT Family’ this includes current East Cheshire NHS Trust employees, bank staff, ISS staff and volunteers at the Trust. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from applicants not listed within these groups. **

Main duties of the job
The role of an occupational therapist is to undertake assessment of patients with a wide range of conditions and to work as autonomous clinicians. Working under the guidance of Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapists as required, using accurate analytical skills and clinical reasoning to interpret assessment findings, making diagnoses where appropriate, identifying patient problems, setting goals, and providing an appropriate treatment plan and progression.

Specific Job Requirements
Essential criteria
- Prior experience working in the NHS – broad range of NHS student placements in both physical and mental health setting
- Demonstrate an understanding of the Occupational Therapy service

- Completion of junior competency framework (or working towards)

- Experience of contributing to individual & group interventions for patients & settings relevant to the role
- Broad range of clinical experience as a student in NHS settings
