Job overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to become part of our team at East Cheshire NHS Trust Pharmacy Department.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of Assistant Technical Officers within the pharmacy stores department. You will provide safe, timely, appropriate and high quality pharmaceutical services for patients and staff and assist in the distribution of medicines to the hospital wards and clinics throughout the Trust.
Full training will be provided in all areas along with working towards an NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Assistant qualification.
Hours: 37.5
Main duties of the job
To assist in the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients at East Cheshire NHS Trust through the provision of a safe, efficient and effective dispensary and distribution service with the opportunity to progress.
The main duties of this varied and interesting role are:
- Ward Services Role - Stock top ups, medication returns
- Distribution Role - Processing orders and to-follows, picking orders using the pharmacy robot and packing orders for wards, customers (under an MHRA license), temperature monitoring, bulk fluids
- Goods Receipt Role - Signing for and booking in goods, dealing with incorrect delivered goods, trouble shooting pharmacy robot, loading the robot
- Reception Role (providing cover) - Greeting patients and staff, booking in prescriptions, filing prescriptions
