The Pharmacy Department is expanding, and we are pleased to announce a new opportunity for a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join us to deliver Homecare medication services. This marks a rare opportunity to join our team, making it the ideal moment to take the next step in your career,

As a Senior Pharmacy Technician, you will play a pivotal role in our dynamic team, contributing to the enhancement of our services and the delivery of exceptional patient care. This is a unique chance to be at the forefront of positive change within our department and make a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Hours per week: 37.5

Main duties of the job

  • To manage and develop homecare medicines management services by providing a specialist technical service. The post holder will also perform a range of medicine supply duties in dispensary and on the wards.
  • To ensure the safe and efficient daily management of the pharmacy homecare services at East Cheshire NHS Trust.
  • To ensure that all medicines are dispensed in a safe, effective and efficient manner in line with all legal and accepted standards of practice.
  • Line Manager for allocated staff within the pharmacy technical team, including pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC (General Pharmaceutical Council)
  • Accredited Accuracy Checking Diploma
  • Leadership/Management qualification of equivalent experience.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Responsible for managing own workload and the supervision of the workload of others.
  • Implementation of procedures within the service.
  • Experience of hospital pharmacy homecare services

Knowledge & Skills

Essential criteria
  • Post-qualification experience in hospital pharmacy.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines whilst paying attention to detail both for self and the team.
  • Specialist knowledge of hospital pharmacy services.
  • To work within GPhC (General Pharmaceutical Council) standards.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Self motivated
  • Standard keyboard skills
  • Ability to proactively and reactively problem solve
