Job overview

**This position is open to staff working at the Trust in the ‘ECT Family’ this includes current East Cheshire NHS Trust employees, bank staff, ISS staff and volunteers at the Trust. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from applicants not listed within these groups. ** 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a experienced Emergency Department Nurse , with developing/proven managerial and leadership skills to add to our already enthusiastic and committed team.

The successful applicant will be required to deliver patient care and manage all areas within the department demonstrating  professionalism, clinical expertise with excellent communication skills in all aspects of their work and working as a role model.

We offer a structured induction programme and on-going supportive mentorship utilising our senior team consisting of Band 7 Senior Nurses and the Training and development facilitator. 

This post is a 9 month fixed term position

Hours per week: 37.00

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder is designated to take charge of the department, on a regular basis.
  • The post holder is responsible for the co-ordination of all patient and Nursing staff activities.
  • The post holder is responsible for the assessment of needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, without supervision and will support other nursing and non-nursing staff in maximising their potential
  • The post holder is required to provide support to the Senior Nurses/Matron and Service Manager participating fully in the development of initiatives which support the improvement of patient care.

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Professional training delivery qualification or equivalent experience of delivering and facilitating in challenging environments.
  • Portfolio of certified/accredited professional development activity undertaken in relevant areas
  • Experience and/or qualifications in the specific area Organisational Development

Knowledge/Skills/Experience
