Job overview
Applications are invited from a highly motivated and dynamic doctor to apply for a vacancy within our Gastroenterology Team on a Locum Appointment for Service (LAS) basis.
The post is not recognised for training; however, it will provide valuable clinical exposure supported by a range of training opportunities.

Main duties of the job
Gastroenterology (Ward 3)
The staff on Ward 3 aim to provide a high quality service in a safe environment where the needs of each patient are cared for in a professional and holistic manner by using all available specialist knowledge and skills. The wellbeing of all our patients relies on appropriate and timely assessment, investigation, treatment and care. The aim is to promote optimum health through communication, teaching and provision of adequate information.
The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to participate in research as well as to maintain a portfolio and have a clinical and educational supervisor.

- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
Clinical Skills
Essential criteria
- Acute care safe: up-to-date ALS. Experience of working at night, and out of hours.
- Relevant specialty clinical knowledge: capacity to apply sound clinical knowledge relevant to the job.
- Clinical judgement: experience in making clinical decisions and managing risk. Knows when to seek help, able to prioritise clinical need.
- Practical skills: shows aptitude for practical skills, required in the job.
- Proven ability to work effectively in different clinical settings required in the job.
