Exciting opportunities are now open at East Cheshire NHS Trust (ECT) for innovative and forward-thinking clinicians to join our well-established Anaesthetic Department.

Following significant investment at Macclesfield District General Hospital, in a brand-new purpose-built ICU Unit, the successful applicant will have a unique opportunity to provide safe, effective, and personal care to the population of rural Macclesfield.
Additional private practice opportunities also exist at the neighbouring Spire Regency, located adjacent to Macclesfield District General Hospital, with which we boast excellent relationships.

Hours per week: 10 PA's
Main duties of the job
The vacancy is for 10 Programmed Activities, 6 Direct Clinical Care, with associated Supporting Professional Activities and 1.37 Out of Hours. The post will involve about 4 daytime theatre sessions or sessions in ICU, which will be flexible depending upon the service requirements. The successful applicants will be expected to participate in the ‘out of hours’ consultant 1:12 on call rota at ECT.

Working for our organisation
NHS Medical and Dental salaries are set at a national level. For new starters not already working to UK Medical and Dental terms and conditions of service will be appointed to the minimum paypoint. The starting salary paypoint can only be increased when there is evidence of relevant, completed year’s experience in terms of nature, type and level of role. The evidence required to increase a starting salary would be Payslips and details noted in the application form i.e. complete employment history

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Full registration with General Medicine Council (GMC) with license to practice
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview)
- CESR (Certificate of Eligibility of Specialist Registration) or European Community Right
- FRCA (Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthesia)
- FFICM (Fellowship of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine), EDIC (European Diploma in Intensive Care Medicine) or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Dual CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) or equivalent
- Certificate in medical education
Clinical Experience
Essential criteria
- Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training)
- Evidence of ability to change clinical practice and service provision
- Can evidence up to date practice in line with recent initiatives
- Practical experience in the management of critical care patients
Management and Administration Experience
Essential criteria
- Evidence of developing change
Desirable criteria
- Ability to engage and communicate the benefits of organisational change to stake holders
- Previous experience in higher level hospital management
Clinical Effectiveness
Essential criteria
- Demonstrate understanding of principles of governance and audit
Desirable criteria
- Evidence having of undertaken audit
