The Outpatient Booking Team are looking for a well-organised, self-confident and proactive individual  as a Call Handler in a very busy and demanding environment.

Work is time sensitive and target driven and will involve liaising with patients, clinical staff and managers at all levels. Good communication skills are crucial in this role.

The role offers flexible working in a good team spirit with excellent support.

The successful applicants will have previous administrative experience and ideally knowledge of NHS computer systems and will have worked in a hospital environment along with having excellent customer service skills. They will be able to work independently once fully trained but will also be a key member of the team.

Hours per Week:37.5 

Main duties of the job

Working as part of the specialty operational team to answer incoming calls to the Booking Centre at Macclesfield District General Hospital.

The post-holder will provide an efficient and effective administrative and booking service for the Planned Care directorate. The post requires good organisational and keyboard skills and a professional telephone manner. 

The post-holder will be expected to work closely with colleagues across the multi-disciplinary teams, using their initiative and decision making within agreed service guidelines and local and national targets.

  • ECDL (European Computer Driving License)
  • Educated to NVQ (National Vocational Qualifications) level 2

Experience
