Job overview

A  great opportunity has arisen for a qualified Nurse Associate to join Rural Alliance Care Community  Team based in Tattenhall covering rural Cheshire. 

The successful candidate will  provide the highest standard of nursing  care and treatment to patients living in their home environment and the team's dressing clinic service.  

This vacancy is a permanent part time position, 30 hours per week. 

 

Main duties of the job

As a qualified Nurse Associate the role will involve assessing and treating patients within own competence levels, whilst liaising closely with the Clinical Leads, Community Nurses and Therapists within the team to ensure that patient's needs are met. 

Duties include:

Undertaking clinical tasks such as venepuncture,  wound care and management, performing and recording clinical observations, catheter management and administration of medication and injections.

Supporting individuals and their families and carers  receiving  palliative care and support

Discussing and sharing patient information with registered nursing colleagues

To ensure the privacy, dignity and safety of patients is maintained at all times 

Recognising safeguarding issues relating to  children and adults who may be at risk of harm or abuse

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • FdSc – Nursing Associate
  • GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Completion of an HCA development programme

Knowledge and Expertise

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
  • IT skills

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player under appropriate supervision, and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of working within a healthcare setting
