Theatre Team Leader

As a part of the Halton Band 6 team, you will provide the highest standard of care. You will have direct management responsibility including; manging your own team, PDR’s, rostering and allocations and the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of elective perioperative care programs. You will be able to demonstrate a high standard of clinical practice, be preferably ALS trained or be prepared to undertake the course and have a passion for teaching and mentoring as we are a teaching hospital.  

All applicants are expected to be forward thinking, possess excellent communication skills and team working qualities. We actively encourage those wishing to multi-skill and broaden their range of clinical expertise and welcome individuals who have an enthusiastic approach to their duties. In return for your commitment and dedication you will be fully supported via peer mentoring and management supervision during your transition period.  

You will also work across site at Warrington Hospital as service needs require, where in addition to our Surgical Specialties; we support Children’s surgery and patients who require enhanced clinical support.

To use a range of verbal and non-verbal techniques to communicate effectively with patients undergoing treatment.  This will include patients who may have difficulties in understanding or communicating.

To provide leadership through personal example, promoting effective departmental communication and fostering good interpersonal relationships.  To support the concept of team working and development of trust, integrity, honesty and sharing between multidisciplinary team members.

To utilise specialist knowledge across operating department practice underpinned by theoretical knowledge and relevant practical experience. 

Attend meetings and study sessions, and to demonstrate an interest in clinical audit and furthering of own professional development by ensuring that own professional knowledge is widened and enriched. To work within limits of competency and level of training and to participate in the Performance Development Review (PDR) system.

As a qualified professional in a leadership role the post holder will be required to make judgements involving a range of facts or situations, which require analysis or comparison of a range of options. 

To use  highly developed physical skills where a high degree of precision or speed and high levels of hand, eye and sensory co-ordination are essential.  

To contribute ideas to encourage good practice and to assist in research projects.

To provide highly specialist clinical technical services in assisting the anaesthetist and surgeon as required.

To plan, implement and update standards of care - monitoring and evaluating effectiveness.
