**This position is open to staff working at the Trust in the ‘ECT Family’ this includes current East Cheshire NHS Trust employees, bank staff, ISS staff and volunteers at the Trust.** 

An exciting opportunity has opened for a part time Band 6 on Ward 7 & Coronary Care Unit (CCU)

Ward 7 & CCU are a dynamic workforce who are keen to help support & develop nurses interested in experiencing this exciting & changeable environment.

Ward 7 is a 28 bedded ward specialty of cardiology & endocrinology care. CCU is a four bedded unit for level 2 cardiology patients.

Applicants must hold a mentorship qualification (or equivalent course) & with Band 5 experience within cardiology.

In joining our team, you will bring your skills and passion to provide the highest quality patient-focused care and compassion for our patients. You must be a team player with excellent communications skills and have the ability to work using your own initiative as well as part of the wider team.

We offer comprehensive learning and development support, excellent training opportunities and support to broaden your experience, knowledge and skills as a qualified nurse.

Hours per week: 37.5, Secondment 12 months

The role of the Band 6 is to support, contribute to and assist the Senior Sister in the leadership and the management of the unit team and to support the Senior Sister in the development, monitoring and implementation of high quality, evidence-based clinical care to ensure continuity of service provision and standards are maintained and improved. 

The Band 6 Sister will act as a role model for staff on the ward sharing knowledge and information and supporting colleagues and members of the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Current First Level Registration in General/Adult Nursing
Meini prawf dymunol
  • Evidence of higher education, i.e Degree, Diploma
  • Evidence of relevant post registration education within Cardiology/Coronary Care Unit (CCU).
  • Willingness to undertake further study/development
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) qualification

Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrates a high standard of clinical practice in appropriate field.
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and action.
  • Ability to delegate safely

Experience

  • Experience as a staff nurse, within cardiology and can demonstrate clinical credibility within this field
  • Experience of mentoring and educating junior members of staff
  • Experience of using a multi disciplinary approach to patient care.

  • Experience in implementing improvements in practice/protocol or procedures.
  • Experience in designing and delivering education to junior colleagues.
