Job overview
We are currently seeking a Receptionist / Telephonist to join our Ophthalmology department. This position is part-time, consisting of 24.5 hours per week over 3 days, (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) to provide support for our busy department. The role involves working on our reception desk and in our call centre.
The post holder will be required to have Customer Service & Call centre background.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to provide high quality of booking and rearrange appointments over the telephone and will need to be flexible in their working.
Excellent accuracy, organisational, delegation and communication skills are essential for this post, liaising with both the general public and colleagues.
The successful applicant will be expected to organise their workload and co-ordinate their activities. The ability to work under pressure and to use one’s own initiative is also essential in this role. The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
