Recruitment Advisor

Band 3

Job overview

Mid Cheshire Hospitals is opening a new Surgical Centre at Victoria Infirmary (VIN) in Northwich. The centre is scheduled to open in April  2025.  We will need to recruit around 80 new people, including nurses, operating department practitioners, health care assistants, radiographers, pharmacy assistants, security guards, porters, medical engineers, maintenance, IT support, domestic assistants and administration staff.

Phew! Our recruitment team are going to be BUSY!  That's why we need you!   We need an additional Recruitment Advisor to help to support  us with all this extra work.

We are excited to offer a part-time, fixed term role, for the duration of the VIN recruitment project (expected to be around 9 -12 months).

We're looking for someone to work 22.5 hours a week and we'd love  to accommodate school friendly hours . Working 09.30 to 14.00, Monday to Friday would work great for us, but we're happy to be a bit flexible, if you are!

Initially, you will need to work the full 22.5 hours in the office, at our Corporate HQ at Infinity House, Crewe. Once you've settled in, and "learned the ropes", we can discuss at a hybrid working pattern.

Main duties of the job

What  do we need?
Here's our non-negotiable essentials......

*Amazing admin, IT and organisational skills. There’s a LOT of paperwork in this role. Candidates need to be taken through compliance checks quickly, efficiently and robustly. You’ll need to record EVERYTHING.

*Outstanding customer service. You'll be dealing with our managers, candidates and our new hires. We  communicate using email, Teams, phonecalls and face to face, so you'll need to be comfortable with all of these. It's important that our managers and candidates all feel well supported by our Recruitment Team so you’ll need to be polite, patient, pro-active and pleasant.

*A bit of flair for marketing. We will need to advertise the new service, and all the new roles that come with it. We’ll need you to be able to support with stuff like social media posts and organising recruitment events. Maybe you'll even bring some new ideas to the table.

*Reliable and hard working. This role is BUSY. You will face lots of conflicting demands on your time., the ability to juggle would be great! You will need to bring the best version of you to work every day.

Our wish list of “nice to haves” would include …..

*Previous Recruitment / Human Resources (HR) experience. An understanding of stuff like employment law, pre-employment checking, right to work and visas, interviewing and selection of candidates would be brilliant.

*Previous experience of using a Recruitment/HR system or similar. I mean, we can teach you to use TRAC and ESR (our systems) but it would be a bonus if you already knew what you were doing.

As a team, we have some very clear expectations about how we work, and any new member needs to be a good fit with our team culture.

We are really supportive of each other. We don't say “that’s not my job” and we all muck in to get the job done. You'll need a good strong work ethic.

We’re a nice bunch. We're kind, friendly and open, and we won't tolerate anything less from our new work buddy.

We’re honest, transparent and encourage each other to speak up , whether that's because you have a great idea, or a problem that you need help with.  You’ll also need to be able to embrace and join in our random office meme conversations 😊

What will you get in return for all this?
You'll get the basics, of course... salary, annual leave,  and so on...
But, you'll also get to work with the best team in the Trust!

Recruitment is a high-profile team, who work closely alongside Human Resources, Learning & Development, Organisational Development and other corporate HQ teams.

We support managers from all areas of the hospital to fill their vacancies. So, even though this is a fixed term, you will be exposed to ALL the other teams in the hospital, so it’s an amazing role for networking.

You will get to see and hear what’s going across the Trust from quite a unique viewpoint (so, discretion and confidentiality are a must).

It’s fast paced, and busy, so you’ll never be bored or have nothing to do.

You will get to interact with different people, from cleaners, to consultants, and everyone in-between.
