Job overview

An exciting permanent opportunity for full or part time positons has arisen within Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP) Musculoskeletal Clinical Assessment and Triage Service (MCATS) for an Advanced Musculoskeletal (MSK) Podiatry Practitioner to join our team.

As an established, experienced and innovated team of advanced practitioners we support the MSK Single Point of Access (SPA), triaging GP referrals to Orthopaedic, Rheumatology and Pain consultants. We work collaboratively with Consultants, GP's, Nursing and AHP colleagues supporting patient pathways to ensure the patients receive the right care first time. Our work has been recognised locally due to impact on patient care and financial efficiencies subsequently invested in service expansion. Furthermore, we were nominated for the national HSJ award for community and Primary care service redesign.

The post offers an opportunity for flexible working within MCATS community clinics covering the South & Vale Royal Primary Care locations in the Central Cheshire Footprint. You will be working alongside other experienced Advanced Practitioners. Our service offers excellent opportunities to take an active approach in developing yourself, others and our service through an established CPD programme. This allows competency and evidence-based portfolio to support Advanced Practice across the 4 Pillars.

Main duties of the job

While we are seeking an experienced advanced podiatry practitioner, we welcome applications from aspiring clinicians who may not fully meet the job description but demonstrate clear aspiration to develop. We can offer additional support, mentorship and training to upskill the right candidate.

This post requires highly specialised advanced practice level of knowledge and skills to provide high quality, effective triage and care for patients with complex musculoskeletal conditions. This includes requesting and managing relevant investigations and acting on results, with an understanding of the medical management, primary and secondary care referral criteria, emergency pathways, and serious pathology. Contribution to the mentorship of others, CPD program, departmental and divisional responsibilities make up key components of this role.

This post includes regular communication with the wider team, GPs, Consultants and management to support links and implement innovative, efficient and effective ways of working within the area of MSK conditions.

Working for our organisation

In September 2016 Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP) came into being as an innovative health partnership between Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Cheshire and Wirral Partnership and South Cheshire and Vale Royal GP Alliance, contracted to provide community health services for people across South Cheshire and Vale Royal. The aim of the partnership is to innovate, transform, develop and deliver services located within the community. This is a partnership which demands we recruit original thinkers committed to providing high quality, safe care in the right place at the right time.
