Cheshire All Age Continuing Care Services is looking for a Resolutions Manager (Adult – all disciplines) to join our award-winning service on a permanent basis.

Main duties of the job

Resolutions Manager is a pivotal role for our service improvement, ensuring we deliver quality outcomes and learn from previous actions. You will be an autonomous and confident professional, who is able to produce work collaboratively with others.  Attention to detail will be key as well as analytical skills.

The post is suitable for a highly motivated, knowledgeable health professional with recent experience in the delivery of NHS Continuing Healthcare. The post holder will work within the remit of the National Framework for Continuing Healthcare and Previously Unassessed Periods of Care (PUPoC) Guidance.

 The Role of resolutions Manager is a leadership role supporting a team of staff to deal with requests to review decisions regarding NHS Continuing Healthcare Funding eligibility and previously unassessed periods of care.

An ability to meet with the public regularly, to listen, understand and explain processes will be a key activity as will representing the Integrated care Board at NHS England Independent Review Panels.

The service operates Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am-5pm.  All Age Continuing Care Service has a strong focus on the wellbeing of its staff and can offer regular 1-1’s, both formal and informal wellbeing activities and an employee assistance programme. Working remotely is possible some of the time, however the need to undertake community visits across Cheshire is also essential. staff are based in offices in Chester, Macclesfield, and Crewe.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading a team of staff to ensure that targets are met, ensuring requests to review eligibility decisions and retrospectively review previously unassessed periods of care are met.
  • Reviewing, analysing, and actioning requests and recommendations from the Independent Review Panel.
  • Representing NHS Cheshire ICB at NHS Independent reviews providing complex verbal and in-depth information to the Independent Review panel members, families, and Solicitors / Representatives.
  • Overseeing and guide Continuing Healthcare Teams through local resolution and Independent Reviews.
  • Quality assuring patient information going to NHS England Independent Review Panel, which is subject to close legal scrutiny, dealing with the exchange of correspondence with legal representatives and advocates.
  • Identifying and leading on areas for service improvement and policy development within the sphere of Independent Review and related areas of Continuing Healthcare.
  • Managing highly complex, contentious, and sensitive cases which may be distressing and involve families in a state of high emotional arousal.
  • Establishing a system of data collection and reporting to inform the Senior Management Team in assessing and planning financial risk and the effective use of financial and physical resources.
  • Prepare statistical reports for the Performance Team.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • RGN/RMN
  • Post Registration Qualification at degree or equivalent
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level of qualification or experience in working at a similar level in specialist area
Desirable criteria
  • MSc or working towards

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • In depth knowledge of NHS Continuing Healthcare and National Framework policy
  • Data protection legislation
Desirable criteria
  • Health Law

Skills

  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • High level analytical skills interpreting complex data and facts accurately

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 5 years post registration experience
  • Proven experience of working at a senior level (band 6 or above)
  • Evidence of management experience
  • Experience of multi-agency working
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of using data and information to formulate recommendations and decisions
  • Experience within CHC and using health assessment tools
