This is a temporary position for a band 6 Eating Disorders Practitioner, working in the West Cheshire Community Eating Disorders Service. The service offers evidence-based treatments to clients suffering from a range of Eating Disorders, using a multi-disciplinary model. The successful candidate will manage a small caseload of clients and deliver talking interventions. They should have registration with the NMC or Allied Health Professionals and have experience of working in community Mental Health Services. Training will be provided to deliver manualised interventions, although prior training and experience in psychological interventions is an advantage.
Main duties of the job
- Managing a caseload of clients with moderate to severe Eating Disorder.
- Assessing clients with moderate to severe eating disorder, co-morbidities and managing risk.
- Acting as part of a multi-disciplinary team, planning and delivering evidence-based care.
- Delivering evidence-based interventions for Eating Disorder and using Clinical Supervision appropriately in doing this.
- Liaising with a range of stakeholders, including clients, care and other service providers.
- Writing client reports and maintaining appropriate documentation, in line with trust policy.
- Delivering self-help and psycho-educational material, through individual sessions and group work.
- Taking part in the continued improvement of the service, through engaging in the Clinical Network Forum and in audit.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Professional qualification (e.g. Nursing, Occupational therapy, Counselling)
- Registration (with NMC or HCPC) and/or Accreditation with BACP
- Additional post qualification study in a specific psychotherapeutic approach e.g. Post Qualification Framework Module or Post Graduate Certificate or willingness to work towards this qualification
Knowledge & Expertise
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of NICE Guidelines and other guidance /policy documents influencing Eating Disorder Service Delivery
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in Mental Health post qualification /accreditation
- Ability to carry and maintain own caseload
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working with people with Eating Disorders
- Experience of delivering 1:1 Psychological interventions
