Relocation offer:

**We offer a relocation package of up to £8,000**

The relocation package is for anyone who is joining CWP in a clinical role at Band 5 or above, who would need to relocate in order to take up employment with Cheshire and Wirral Partnership.

To be eligible for the relocation payment, you must live more than 40 miles from the base/location of the post you are applying for and you would need to relocate to within 15 miles of the new base.

The Consultant will work across the Liaison teams in West and Wirral

The post holder will be a core member of the liaison psychiatry team in a busy acute hospital.  The post holder will provide leadership to staff and care to patients with mental health needs, mainly in an inpatient or A&E setting.  She/he will have an important role in developing liaison psychiatry services in collaboration with the acute and  mental health trusts as well as local commissioners. She/he will provide flexible cover to the liaison service with the other liaison consultant. 

The post holder will have an important role in further development of integration of mental and physical health in our neighbourhoods to ensure alignment with the plans for the WCICP and the Long term plan.

The Countess of Chester Hospital (COCH) is a 600 bed hospital, providing the full range of acute and a number of specialist services. They also provide services to Ellesmere Port Hospital, a rehabilitation, intermediate care and outpatient facility. COCH are the main Trust, serving West Cheshire, and provide services to welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Local Health Board. Welsh patients represent approximately one fifth of the workload of the COCH Trust.

As a consultant primary duties includes assessment, diagnosis and advice regarding medication and management as well as providing assessments under MHA where necessary and occasionally acting as RC for patients who require detention under the act but are physically frail so need to be cared for in the acute trust.  To actively liaise with COCH, as well as colleagues in Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP), primary care, social services and voluntary sectors, to develop and deliver liaison psychiatry services for patients. To provide clinical supervision to members of liaison psychiatry team.

Currently the medical members of the liaison team include a consultant lead in older people.  It is expected that the incumbent will bring additional expertise in adults of working age. It is expected that the post holder would be flexible in terms of being prepared to work across the ages but the preference and expertise of experience dictates the majority of case allocation.
