An exciting opportunity  has opened  up  in the Children and Young Peoples  Access team in Wirral CYPMHS (formerly CAMHS).  We are looking for an experienced  professional to join our  community team and oversee management of service provision related to young people and families who
are waiting for assessment and treatment.

Main duties of the job

To  manage day to day operation issues of the  Children and Young Peoples Access Team,  including managing and supervising team members  workloads through caseload management, allocation of referrals  and supervision, ensuring local and national policies and procedures are adhered to. 

To work in partnership with the Clinical Co-ordinator to manage, lead and be accountable for the provision of high quality leadership and management of the team.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level in a health or social care qualification
  • Post-graduate level nationally recognised course relevant to the post
  • Evidence of actively consolidating professional experience through continuous professional development
  • Evidence of leadership course/training
Desirable criteria
  • Coaching and Mentoring.
  • Recognised management qualification to level 7 or equivalent management experience and training.
  • Masters or equivalent level qualification in health/social care.

Knowledge and Expertise

Essential criteria
  • To possess specialist knowledge across a range of relevant procedures underpinned by theory
  • Knowledge of social and care health legislation and ability to apply knowledge appropriately.
  • Knowledge on the delivery of a clinical, technical or social care service
  • Knowledge of the recording of service users’ information
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Project management and implementing change
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of undertaking surveys or audits
  • Knowledge of Undertaking equipment testing and adaptation Experience of regularly undertaking research and development activity and clinical trials

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Substantial demonstrable experience in a mental health setting
  • Experience of managing a multidisciplinary team or service
  • A number of years experience at band 6 or equivalent showing leadership, supervision skills
  • Experience of planning and organising complex activities
  • or programmes requiring formulation and adjustment.
  • Experience of the direct delivery of a clinical, technical or social care service
  • Experience of proposing policy or service changes which impacts beyond own area
  • Working with complex budgets
Desirable criteria
  • Responsibility for policies and the impact on other community and voluntary services
  • Experience of being an authorised signatory and holding a delegated budget
  • Experience of day to day management in allocating, placing and supervising staff or students
