The School Nursing (SN) service in Hywel Dda University Health Board is delighted to advertise a brand-new Band 7 post for a Professional Development Co-ordinator for School Nursing.
The post is for 37.5 hours a week, working on an all year-round basis.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an experienced and well-motivated Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) School Nurse (SN) with their qualification registered on Part 3 of the NMC register. They must have current post registration experience of working in a School Nursing team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and engaging individual who possesses the ability to work with all levels of qualified and unqualified staff, including Pre and Post registration nursing students.
Working closely with the Senior Nurse, Team Leaders and staff members, you will lead on the continuing development of a training service for the SN workforce and contribute to the quality assurance agenda.
The base for the post will be discussed with the successful candidate.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- SCPHN-SN qualification with current NMC registration.
- Educated to a Masters Degree or working towards with equivalent experience
- Extensive knowledge of Clinical Governance and NMC requirements for service.
- Extensive knowledge of ‘A School Nursing Framework for Wales’ and attached service standards, with an understanding of current strategic issues in School Nursing
- An in-depth knowledge of the current NMC standards on delegation.
- An in-depth knowledge of current health and social policies and the Public Health Agenda
Desirable criteria
- PGCE or working towards
- Qualification in Management/ Leadership
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working as a School Nurse
