We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with an interest in healthcare science to support our Pharmacy team in the day to day running of the Pharmacy Department at Prince Philip Hospital.

The Pharmacy team is forward thinking and continually strives to improve the delivery of patient focused pharmaceutical care and optimise the use of medicines within the Health Board.

This is a fixed term/secondment post, 37.5 hours  per week.  You must have excellent organisational and communication skills and you will need to be able to work effectively with the existing team within the pharmacy department.

 

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work within a team of Senior Technical Officers, Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists in providing a wide range of Pharmaceutical Services within the hospital setting.  You will be given specific training to help develop your skills.

Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) Grade C or above. To hold a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in pharmacy services or equivalent is desirable but not essential, as full support and supervision will be provided to complete the NVQ Level 2 qualification in pharmacy services.

To perform a variety of tasks to support the pharmacy teams within the Health Board. Roles may include working in the following areas: Distribution, Procurement, Dispensary, and Ward Based Services.

The successful candidate will be involved in working on a weekend and Bank Holiday Rota.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

  • Good standard of secondary education to include 5 GCSE's at C or equivalent
