The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2024/2025 and will be implemented in November 2024 backdated to 1st April 2024 where applicable.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Community Children's Nursing Service. We are looking for an approachable, dynamic and innovative paediatric nurse who is articulate with good interpersonal and communication skills.
This stimulating and challenging role will offer you the opportunity to work as part of this friendly, supportive and experienced team working with children, young people (CYP) with complex health needs and their families.
The post is based in Child Health Withybush General Hospital Haverfordwest
The post holder will be responsible for reporting to the Children's Community Nurse (CCN) Team Leader.
This is a fixed term / secondment, part time post 14 hours per week working predominantly day time although does require flexibility to meet service needs.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be expected: -
To provide high quality nursing care for children in their own homes or alternative community setting.
To have continuing responsibility for the management of a caseload including continuing care packages.
As a member of the Community Children’s Nursing Team be responsible for ensuring high standards of care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care in partnership with the child/ young person and their family.
Contribute to the development of the service across Hywel Dda Health Board.
To act as a role model and expert practitioner.
Offer clinical leadership, management of students and others who work within the Team.
To facilitate an Integrated Children’s Service
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. Welsh and /or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 12,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services to almost 400,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. 48 General Practices (GP surgeries), 49 Dental Practices, 98 Community Pharmacies (chemists), 44 General Ophthalmic Practices (including eye health and low vision services), 38 sites providing mental health and learning disability services, care within your own homes.
Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Current NMC Registration RN Part 8 or 15 of the register.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Community Health Studies or willing to work towards with experience
- Degree/Diploma or equivalent experience
- WNB 998 or equivalent PILS/PALS
Desirable criteria
- Additional courses e.g. asthma, eczema, Cardiac
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience at a senior level of practice.
- Ability to provide supervisory management.
- Participate in recruitment and selection
- Evidence of CPD and mandatory training.
Desirable criteria
- Previous community experience.
- Knowledge of child with additional needs.
- Experience of handling clinical incidents and complaints.
Language skills
