Job overview

Hotel Services are currently looking to recruit three individuals who would like to join a busy and committed department in providing portering  services to cover all wards and departments. The successful candidates will play an integral role within the organisation.

We are seeking to appoint Porters to join our well established team. This will mean being available to work day shifts and night shifts, and having flexibility to alter shifts if necessary to support the needs of the service.  There will be a requirement to work weekends and bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

Duties will be varied, including patient transfers between wards/departments, waste handling, responding to security concerns, and furniture moves.  There will also be mortuary duties.

The successful candidates will have full training when they start, and this will include Moving and Handling, Fire Training and training in methods of restraint.  There will also be training in the use of the electronic Helpdesk.

Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. 48 general practices (four of which are managed practices), 47 dental practices (including three orthodontic), 99 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres;

Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
