Job overview

We currently have a vacancy to cover maternity leave for a Soft Facilities Management Supervisor who would be responsible for the supervision of cleaning and housekeeping services at Withybush General Hospital, and the surrounding community premises in Pembrokeshire.

The hours are - 37.5 hours per week working 5 days out of 7, on a rota, which includes bank holidays and weekends.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and committed individuals who are hardworking, motivated, forward thinking and innovative.

The post is demanding and the ideal candidate will have relevant experience of large scale cleaning operations.  A relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience would be an advantage and willingness to study to this level will be an essential requirement.  The successful candidates will be required to work between the hours of 7am and 10pm and the ability to work flexibly as required will be essential.

The post holder will need to be flexible to work wherever the demand is within the Hotel Facilities Department.

This post is a Fixed Term/ Secondment until  31/12/2025. If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application.

48 General Practices (GP surgeries), 49 Dental Practices, 98 Community Pharmacies (chemists), 44 General Ophthalmic Practices (including eye health and low vision services), 38 sites providing mental health and learning disability services, care within your own homes.

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Good level of general education
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience, skills and knowledge of cleaning tasks/cleaning supervision
  • Detailed Food Hygiene knowledge Health & Safety, COSHH, Moving and Handling, and HACCP knowledge
  • IT Skills
Desirable criteria
  • ILM Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading or equivalent
  • Level 2 Food Safety Award
  • Coaching/Training Certificate
  • Supervisory Training
  • IOSH Certificate
  • Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of dealing with general public
  • Supervisory/team leading experience
Desirable criteria
  • Previous NHS experience
