Job overview
An exciting opportunity has emerged as part of the Bowel Screening Wales Team locally. This new band 4 waiting list clinic co-ordinator will be based at Glangwili hospital and support a small, but growing team of 8 specialist screening practitioners.
The post holder will provide an efficient, comprehensive administrative service for Bowel Screening Wales (BSW), ensuring high standards at all times. This will be in conjunction with departmental leads, ensuring a professional and confidential service at all times.
The post holder will be able to manage own workload with minimal supervision within agreed guidelines.
As a senior administrator, ensure that all the office functions and duties of the administration team are managed.
Main duties of the job
To provide an efficient, comprehensive administrative service for Bowel Screening Wales (BSW), ensuring high standards at all times. This will be in conjunction with departmental leads, ensuring a professional and confidential service at all times
To liaise with and schedule appointments for Bowel Screening participants, using a number of IT systems for data entry and report generation.
The post holder will provide and coordinate administrative and secretarial services including for example, the preparation of agendas and minutes, and any appropriate follow-up action as required. In addition, the post holder will provide project support and be responsible for managing databases.
The post hold will support a team with the management of projects by gathering information, analysing and presenting information, and undertaking enquires as and when is necessary. The work is varied and changeable.
The post holder may supervise other staff.

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Level 3 qualification (e.g. A Levels, AS Levels, NVQ3) or equivalent demonstrable experience of administrative / office skills and knowledge
- Experience of a full range of duties working in an administrative / office environment
- Knowledge of specialist NHS/ Organisational terminology
Desirable criteria
- Secretarial training

- Experience of working in an administrative / office environment
- Familiar and competent with Microsoft IT packages, especially Work, Excel and Powerpoint
- Experience of setting up spreadsheets, databases
