Applications are invited for a Clinical Teaching Fellow in Psychiatry with an anticipated start date of 7th August 2024.  This post is for one year initially with scope to extend for a further 12 months.

The post offers an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking doctor with a strong interest in medical education and support may be available to pursue a postgraduate medical education based qualification .

  

Main duties of the job

The post is full time, comprising of 50% teaching and 50% clinical time.  Teaching is a major component with clinical time spent working in Psychiatry, the timetable and sub specialty will be tailored to suit the successful applicant.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • MBBS or Equivalent
  • Completion of UK Foundation Training
  • Eligible for full current GMC registration
Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrable academic excellence (eg intercalated degree, prizes, merits etc.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable knowledge of current clinical practice
  • Demonstrable experience in undergraduate teaching
  • Experience of working within the clinical specialty
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of principles of medical education
  • Experience in delivery of simulation based teaching

Skills & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Special interest in medical education
  • Demonstrable communication and presentation skills
  • Evidence of involvement in Audit/QIP
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of C21 curriculum
  • Excellent IT skills
