Digital Delivery Principal Support & Business Analyst

Digital Health and Care Wales is an ambitious organisation created by Welsh Government to lead on the digital transformation of health and care. It builds on the digital architecture and national services put in place by the NHS Wales Informatics Service over the past decade.

The organisation will lead on large-scale developments that make a significant difference to the people of Wales as well as to health and care professionals, such as expansion of the digital patient record and the creation of a National Data Resource. Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) as a Digital Delivery Principal Support and Business Analyst. 

DHCW is the national digital services delivery organisation for Wales.  It leads the digital transformation of health and care across Wales, working closely with other NHS Wales organisations and other key stakeholders and partners. DHCW leads the delivery of major programmes including the National Data Resource, Digital Medicines Transformation, the NHS Wales App, and the Welsh Community Care Information System.  

This will be an important role within the organisation, working in the Operations Digital Delivery Team with senior leaders and teams across the organisation, and with external stakeholders.  The role will help produce insights that will shape the strategic direction of the DHCW Operations Directorate. 

Main duties of the job

As part of the Digital Delivery team, you will be responsible for the establishment of management of information insights to drive delivery across the Operations Directorate and ensure that it meets the needs of stakeholder, automating via reporting tools where required.

You will support, design and develop insights for use across Operations and to a wider stakeholder audience using applications such as MS Project, Web applications, Power BI.

Through this work you will develop an expert understanding of the needs and priorities of DHCW and other NHS Wales organisations, and of our digital service users.  You will work with the Operations team to prioritise activities, so that we can develop and deliver world-leading digital services which improve the lives of people in Wales.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Power BI skills
  • Masters in information and I.T. related subject or equivalent experience
  • The PRINCE 2/APM foundation certificate in project management
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment
  • PRINCE 2/APM Project management Practitioner

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Proven experience in the analysis, design and support of Information and IT systems instead

Skills and Attributes

Essential criteria
  • Ability to communicate with staff up to a senior level on complex business or clinical processes
  • Ability to learn new technologies and IT systems quickly through specialist training courses and self study
  • Ability to organise own work effectively and work on own initiative
Desirable criteria
