Digital Health and Care Wales is an ambitious organisation created by Welsh Government to lead on the digital transformation of health and care. It builds on the digital architecture and national services put in place by the NHS Wales Informatics Service over the past decade.
The organisation will lead on large-scale developments that make a significant difference to the people of Wales as well as to health and care professionals, such as expansion of the digital patient record and the creation of a National Data Resource. Job overview
We have a great opportunity for a Service Management Developer, working within the Service Management Team to support the delivery of our objectives through development and deployment of complex support arrangements throughout NHS Wales; including agreements, plans, procedures and measures for specific national clinical and non-clinical IT Services.
The posts will provide exposure to all areas of ITIL and Service Management, including developing skills in auditing against the ISO 20000 standard.
The right candidates will be highly literate, have experience of delivering in an IT environment and ideally, have a working knowledge of how information and technology support the delivery of patient services throughout NHS Wales.
The candidate must have experience of IT Service Management and be able to describe the disciplines that make up the ITIL framework, and either holding or working towards gaining an ITIL Foundation qualification.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
To develop and implement IT Service Management arrangements for DHCW Services in accordance with the specification and guidance provided by IT Service Management Leads and Principal Service Level Management Specialists and in line with the ITIL Framework.
Ensure that the IT Service Management arrangements are robust and fit for purpose through audit and Continual Service Improvement (CSI).
This post is fixed term until 31/03/25 to meet the needs of the service.

Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
- Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management (ITIL) or demonstrable IT experience.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of current themes in Healthcare in Wales.
- Clear understanding of interrelationships between aspects of complex IT infrastructure and service support requirements.
- Knowledge and understanding of the role and complexities of service management and continuing service improvement
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of public sector service delivery to different organisations.
