Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 1,2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12 per hour - £23,465 per annum. This temporary top up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2024/25 is confirmed
Job overview
As part of the People Development & OD team, this role will support the team in the areas of widening access and career development.
This role will ensure that NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership is fully engaged and represented at suitable opportunities to engage with potential apprentices and trainees of all ages through various mediums available.
The postholder will liaise with schools, colleges, and universities co-ordinating and administrating opportunities for work experience placements and career events.
The postholder will provide advice and guidance to managers and leaders regarding early career entry opportunities.
The individual will maintain and deliver training to support staff in their career development, offering advice and raising awareness of opportunities available for all levels of staff across NWSSP.
The ability to speak Welsh is at level 3 in speaking and understanding is essential for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
General
Manage and Lead the Administration Team within People and Organisational Development
Widening Access
Support services with the creation of early career opportunities, career pathways and development opportunities.
Supporting the team to work across professional boundaries to implement national initiatives into local context, eg:
o Pre-employment work experience programmes
o Apprenticeships
o Internships
o Taster sessions
o Careers events
Support our internal Early Career Network to plan, co-ordinate, and attend events and fairs, promoting early career opportunities externally.
Career Development
· Deliver and maintain career development training to staff at all levels including appraisal training, managers’ induction and staff induction.
· Co-ordinate the yearly development of Network 75 students within the organisation.
Culture & Inclusion
· Ensure early career opportunities are inclusive and supportive of the diversity and inclusion agenda.
· Ensure career development training and resources are accessible and inclusive to all staff within the organisation.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level in education, HR, or related topics or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of Project Management / general management
- A Level in Welsh Language (first language or second language)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of apprenticeship frameworks and essential skills
- Knowledge of information system
- Experience of building effective partnerships and networks across organisations
- Experience of giving presentations to varied groups
- Experience of facilitating groups with multiple professions
- Experience of delivering training
Desirable criteria
- Setting up Work experience/placement programmes
- Coaching experience

- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to develop materials with the use of a full range of PC systems/software
