This role encompasses Agile Working, with the office base being Capital Quarter 2 in Cardiff.  There may also be a need to travel to other Public Health Wales sites on occasions. 

Main duties of the job

The Finance Business Partner will support the Senior Finance Business Partner in ensuring proactive financial management and financial control of service area resources at all levels of decision making and the effective utilisation of these resources to achieve value for money.

 

To support the Directorate Senior Management Team, the post holder is responsible for both short term and long term financial planning, ensuring that the aims and objectives of the directorate are underpinned by appropriate financial resources.

 

Takes responsibility for managing financial position for area covered, investigating and advising on highly complex issues and providing Management and Corporate reports, financial and business planning advice

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • • CCAB qualified, equivalent to a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification or equivalent level of knowledge and skills.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • • Experience of working in a financial environment at a senior level in a large complex organisation.
  • • Experience of working with non-financial senior managers.
  • • Staff management experience
  • • Providing financial training to non-financial managers
  • • Management accounting experience
  • • Involvement in developing business cases
Desirable criteria
  • • Experience of working in the NHS.
  • • Management accounting experience within the NHS

Skills & Attributes

  • • Excellent Communication skills – both written and verbal
  • • Strong Interpersonal skills
