Ward MSSU has a total of 31 medical short stay inpatient beds

  • Exciting, fast paced and challenging environment within the Urgent and Emergency Care Division
  • Patients mainly with 72 hour discharge plan
  • Variety of medical conditions from cardiac to respiratory

Please note that we can only consider applications from individuals with a live NMC registration or UK nursing students awaiting their PIN, as we are currently unable to support OSCE. 

Main duties of the job

The team is led by the Ward Manager Emma Meade, supported by Band 6 Deputies.

Ward MSSU is a 31 bed medical short stay ward. This is an exciting, fast paced and challenging ward to work on, with a fantastic multi-disciplinary team. We receive our patients from MAU and the Emergency department when they are in need of a short stay in hospital.

A necessity for this role is to have a broad general medicine base. The ideal candidates for these positions would be highly motivated and have a genuine desire to help people in every way they can and also provide the best health care across the board.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Our service is continually expanding and developing, we will offer you training and education to enable you to gain specialist skills to develop within your career, such as senior staff nurses.

We offer a great Trust induction including a 4 specific days for registered practitioners in your first month of employment. We recognise that all qualified nurses have different personal commitments so we value full and part time staff equally. You will be fully supported by the ward to ensure the most positive experience.
