Job overview
The Respiratory teams at North West Anglia Trust, which encompasses Hinchingbrooke and Peterborough City Hospital, are looking for a dynamic Band 6 Physiotherapist to join them in a role which covers critical care, respiratory ward, cardiac ward, surgical wars and respiratory outpatients.
We are looking for maternity cover and would be supportive of a potential secondment this could be a band 5-6 development post (no longer than 3 months for the development period) for a fixed term contract.
Our Teams are a combination of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Technicians and Assistants who are committed to joint working to deliver a high-quality service.
If you are enthusiastic and motivated with a passion for Surgical, Respiratory and Critical Care working, this exciting role could be for you. Prior experience working in this field is essential.
We are looking for a team player, who is flexible and has excellent communication skills to join our team to provide excellent patient care across our hospital.
**The interview will be a face-to-face assessment. This assessment process is to ensure that candidates possess the practical and communication skills necessary for the role. Whilst we assume that candidates have the requisite knowledge base, we aim to assess how effectively they can apply this knowledge in practical situations, that we feel cannot be adequately replicated through online questioning.**
Main duties of the job
The role involves:
· Working as part of the Respiratory Physiotherapist Out of hours On call
· 6 monthly rotations – Respiratory outpatients, medical and surgical wards, Critical Care & Cardiac Ward,
· Supervision of others including students, Band 5 Therapists and Therapy Assistants
· Active participation in Service Development and teaching of others.

- Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
- HCPC Registered
Desirable criteria
- CSP member
Experience
Essential criteria
- Wide variety of experience in core rotations as a Band 5 Physiotherapist or equivalent
- NHS Acute Hospital Experience
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Basic knowledge of the multi-disciplinary team
- Experience in use of basic IT system for data recording
Keys Skills/Abilities
Essential criteria
- Strong belief in CPD and Reflective Practice
- Able to work as a team member and independently
- Good Clinical Reasoning skills
- Ability to present information in logical concise manner
