As a thriving Front of House team, we are looking for a Specialist Physiotherapist or experienced Band 5 seeking a development post to join us at Peterborough City Hospital within our Emergency Department.
This role uses excellent communication and teamwork to support patients in returning to their home and preventing unnecessary admissions to hospital wherever possible.

Main duties of the job
- To enable Physiotherapy to provide Therapy Skills within the inpatient service
- To ensure safe, efficient and effective delivery of patient focussed care in line with identified evidence based practice, local and national standards
- To work collaboratively within Multidisciplinary and Multi-agency Teams
- To participate in delegated projects for service development with the team
- To act autonomously in the assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have a complex presentation
- To demonstrate a flexible approach to working in support of the whole inpatient team
- To undertake weekend working as required within service developments
- To be available to provide Clinical Supervision
- This role entails 90% Clinical Contact and 10% Operational Management as appropriate within team requirements
- To guide Band 5 and support staff in the management and delivery of therapeutic care plans

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
- Current HCPC Registration
Desirable criteria
- CSP member
Experience
Essential criteria
- Variety of clinical experience throughout core hospital-based rotations
- Acute hospital experience
- Respiratory/ On Call competency
Desirable criteria
- Experience of supervising pre-graduate students and/or support workers
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Clinical knowledge in clinical conditions associated with specialist area/sound level in theoretical knowledge of in-patient areas
- Sound knowledge of the multi-disciplinary team
- Experience in use of basic IT systems (Microsoft packages) & data recording
Desirable criteria
- Awareness and understanding of community services and D2A pathway
Key Skills/Abilities

- Able to work as a team member and independently
- Good Clinical Reasoning skills
- Ability to present information in logical concise manner
