The Outpatient Amputee Physiotherapy Team provide clinics at both Peterborough City Hospital and Stamford Hospital.
The team is responsible for providing a quality service to a busy Amputee out-patient department consisting of referrals from: Vascular and Surgical Consultants, Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine, local GP practices, Physiotherapists, Vascular Nurse Specialist and out of area hospitals including Addenbrookes and Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. We also provide pre-amputation, pre-prosthetic and prosthetic rehabilitation as well as satellite clinics with the prosthetists and Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine based in Cambridge.
We are looking for a full time band 6 Senior Physiotherapist to provide 37.5 hours a week to cover maternity leave within our innovative Outpatient Amputee Physiotherapy Team. You should be forward thinking, dynamic and have the desire to develop individually and improve the service further.
You must have experience of working within the Amputee and prosthetic speciality within the NHS and some line management experience. You will be encouraged and supported to develop your clinical, teaching and managerial skills and be actively involved in service development. Post graduate training will be supported to enable further development in the management of Vascular/Amputee conditions and disorders.

Main duties of the job
To demonstrate amputee physiotherapy skills to manage patients referred to the service working in accordance with individual performance metrics
· To ensure safe, efficient and effective delivery of patient focussed care in line with identified evidence based practice, local and national standards
· To work collaboratively within Multidisciplinary and Multi-agency Teams
· To participate in delegated projects for service development with the team
· To act autonomously in the assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have a complex presentation
· To demonstrate a flexible approach to working in support of the whole in patient/outpatient team
· To be available to provide Clinical Supervision
· This role entails 90% Clinical Contact and 10% Operational Management as appropriate within team requirements
· To guide Band 5 and support staff in the management and delivery of therapeutic care plans

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
- HCPC Registered
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development
Desirable criteria
- CSP member according to profession
Experience
Essential criteria
- Wide variety of band 5 rotations
- Acute Hospital Experience
- Experience of working within a surgical/amputee setting
Desirable criteria
- Experience of managing staff
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Sound level of theoretical knowledge within the field of Amputee Rehabilitation including prosthetics.
- Basic knowledge of the multi-disciplinary team
- Experience in the use of basic IT systems for data recording
