Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Orthoptist to join the Orthoptic Team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work alongside a dedicated team of Ophthalmologists, Orthoptists, Technicians & Nurses in a busy but supportive department.

The main base will be at Peterborough, with some clinics at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. Should a newly qualified Orthoptist be appointed, a period of preceptorship will be undertaken supported by departmental mentors.

Applicants will need to be enthusiastic, motivated & be keen to work hard in a busy environment.

Main duties of the job

The Orthoptic Department is actively engaged with developing the role of the Orthoptist within the Hospital Eye Service, developing Glaucoma, Neuro-Ophthalmology and Medical Retina services.

Duties will primarily be Orthoptic Clinics, with Visual Field Clinics. Staff are fully supported in development with Newly Qualified Orthoptists supported by a dedicated Orthoptist. We welcome applications from students about to qualify this year.
