We welcome trained Electricians  Or Plumbers to join our friendly and supportive in-house maintenance team on a full time, permanent role primarily based at Peterborough  Hospital . On call hours will be scheduled into your rota.

You will be engaging with a variety of people including staff, service users and visitors. Therefore, you must demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills as well as good literacy skills and the capacity to work independently and as a member of a team.

Main duties of the job

To undertake all advanced/complex maintenance covering:

·         Day to day defects

·         Planned preventative maintenance

·         Installation work/projects

·         Competent Person duties

·         Looking after Alfred Caleb house 140 bedrooms, 18Houses, Mc Millan Centre and Medical records building.

• Participate in an on-call rota providing cover for out of hours alarms, emergencies and emergency repairs, and cross site working.

Education & Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BTEC First Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Or Diploma or NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and heating OR Diploma or NVQ Level 3 Electrical
Desirable criteria
  • IOSH Working Safely

Experience

Essential criteria
  • • Completion of a structured training program in electrical or mechanical engineering for a minimum period of 3 years.
  • • Significant experience of working in maintenance
