A position has arisen within the Informatics Training and Support Team for a Senior Informatics Training & Support Officer.  

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that provides blended learning and application support on Clinical and Microsoft Office applications to Trust and Community staff.

As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for supporting the Trust’s applications on a daily basis. You will be expected to help on the implementation and operation of all aspects of the Trust’s Clinical and Business applications. You will also be required to train our colleagues in the use of the supported applications. The role is varied and challenging, other responsibilities include supervising the team and scheduling the department training and support diary.

While the role may be based at either of our main sites at Peterborough or Huntingdon, cross site working will be required. Additionally, we offer both onsite and remote working opportunities. We are looking for someone with excellent communication and problem solving skills and a willingness to learn new systems. Ideally you will have experience of a training and mentoring role and should have an understanding of projects, knowledge of the NHS and clinical systems would be beneficial.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To work in a supervisory capacity ensuring the scheduling of all training and support.

To provide IT Training on the Trusts IT systems.

To provide first, second and third line application  support services to all users of the trusts IT systems, Identifying their own individual requirements.

To assist with implementation of IT projects and/or upgrades to systems.

To assist in the maintenance of written documentation for training and support.

Mentoring junior members of the team.

  • Previous experience in an administrative/customer support role
  • Previous experience of working in a health care setting
