Associate Director Workforce - EPR Programme - Peterborough

To provide comprehensive senior HR and OD expertise to the Electronic Patient Record Change Programme.  As the programme workforce specialist, the postholder will play a pivotal role in the implementation of the EPR by ensuring the programme adheres too good employment practice and legislation and any risks associated in terms of workforce are highlighted and appropriately managed.

The postholder will provide pro-active, value added, strategic leadership to the workforce elements of the EPR programme including advising on workforce plans, role redesign, new ways of working, new ways of delivering care, restructures, organisation design, staff engagement and culture change across the Trust to realise the full benefits including quality improvement and financial efficiencies from the introduction of the EPR. 

The role will be at the forefront of leading on large scale workforce initiatives and transformation programmes. This requires them to interpret and anticipate national, regional, and local policy to ensure the Trusts’ strategic plans support the NHS People Promise, effective workforce planning and retention, staff engagement and inclusion, and the leadership and management of staff.  This role is key to ensuring the senior People and Organisation Development team are involved and kept up to date with the project particularly linking in professionally with a dotted line to the Deputy Chief People Officer.

  • MCIPD qualified, or equivalent experience
  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area
  • Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
  • Advanced theoretical and practical specialist knowledge and expertise

Experience

  • Experience in working with senior colleagues in supporting significant organisational change and development programmes
  • Demonstrable experience in highly complex programme or project management.
  • Significant senior HR experience within a healthcare environment and contributing to the organisation’s strategy
  • Evidence of previous experience of working within a complex environment.
  • Experience of project management in the design, development and implementation of organisation-wide change management
  • Experience of working closely and negotiating with Trade Union partners.
  • Experience of managing staff
  • Record of achievement in HR management and related areas
  • Workforce planning and role redesign experience
  • Demonstrable success of working as a workforce specialist in a large, complex organisation
