Job overview
To provide clinical expertise and quality patient care to the patient group.
To demonstrate clear leadership and mentorship through role modelling and motivation to the B7 multi-disciplinary team.
As a clinical leader you will have responsibility for the organisation and management of the department and team on a daily basis raising concerns and escalating as required.
You will facilitate and coordinate the training, education and development of the staff.

Main duties of the job
- Demonstrate clinical expertise and credibility and ensure delivery of high quality, evidence-based patient care is a priority through role modelling and leadership.
- Take appropriate action to address any shortfall, errors or omissions.
- Ensure robust and effective communication throughout the department.
- Investigate adverse events, near misses and complaints attached to the department.
- Encourage reflective practice.
- Organise and manage the staff and the department on a daily basis to ensure it reflects clinic scheduling and escalate any gaps or concerns.
- Explore new ways of working and developing systems to enhance patient care.
- The post holder must at all times carry out his/her responsibilities with due regard to Trust policies

Education
Essential criteria
- RN Adult or equivalent with current NMC registration
- Teaching/Mentoring qualification
- Diploma or Degree level studies or equivalent knowledge
- Demonstrable evidence of continuing professional development
Experience
Essential criteria
- Recent experience working at Band 5 within specialty in an acute setting with the ability to demonstrate up-to-date evidenced based practice
Desirable criteria
- Experience of managing people
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Demonstrative knowledge of clinical governance framework
Skills
Essential criteria
- English language (listening, reading, writing, speaking) proficiency at the level identified by the relevant regulatory body
- Good record keeping and written presentation skills
