The post holder is required to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team internal and external to the organisation.

The post holder will need to work clinically assisting the team with patients as required.

Main duties of the job

  • To support the leadership team, section heads and Radiology Consultants in maintaining patient flow through Diagnostic Imaging.

  • Liaise with the cancer services team as appropriate, attending meetings as required.
  • Assist with the booking of examinations as required.
  • Troubleshoot with the Leadership team any issues with appointment availability.
  • Deal with enquiries liaising with the Principal Radiographers and Modality Teams where required.
  • Transfer patients to the other modalities in urgent cases.

  • Ensure diagnostic requests are expedited promptly and escalate any delays to the appropriate person.
  • Utilise IT systems to secure and record timely and accurate data relevant to the role and function.
  • Support senior staff in predicting any shortfalls in capacity, taking delegated remedial action as required.
  • To support the Principal Radiographers with administrative duties e.g. staff rota’s, meeting minutes and CRIS diary management.
  • Cover clinical lists assisting the Radiographers when required.
