An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Outpatient Team for the post Senior Team Leader.

Main duties of the job

Duties will be varied and include the development and monitoring of the departments training processes procedures and KPIs. An integral part of the role is to provide managerial support and guidance of the Team Leaders in conjunction with the Outpatients Operations Coordinator, ensuring that all patients’ appointments are booked within targets working with the speciality teams.

The role is rewarding and challenging and the successful candidates must be able to meet tight deadlines and work on their own initiative.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The role has 3 key elements: operational management, service delivery, leadership and transformation. You will provide support to the Outpatients Operations Coordinator and Outpatient Manager, support adherence to Outpatient performance metrics including referral management, booking appointments, reception duties, ERS compliance and service development and support HR processes for the Team Leaders and clerks.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • General Level of education to GCSE level
  • NVQ Level 4 or equivalent level of experience

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of team supervision, leadership and management in a supervisory role
  • Experience in developing SOP's and monitoring performance against KPI's
  • Experience of change management. Ability to deliver against challenging deadlines
  • Knowledge of Confidentiality, Data Protection and Information Governance
  • Experience within a supervisory role
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of Outpatient procedures and processes
  • Working knowledge of Outpatient systems

Key Skills

Essential criteria
  • Competent PC skills including Microsoft office
  • Ability to plan ang organise activities
  • Ability to provide the day-to-day management of staff including work allocation, appraisal, initial stages of grievance and recruitment
  • Customer Care/telephone skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to produce reports and analyse statistical information
