Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Cancer Services Admin Team.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our small but very busy and dedicated Admin Team. 

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to Consultants and their medical team within the Department and also ensuring the provision of an effective service. 

** Please note this role is not eligible for sponsorship**

 

Main duties of the job

To assist in the provision of an efficient typing, filing and administrative support service to consultants and their medical team within the Cancer Services Admin Team. 

Ensuring the provision of an effective service which is receptive to the needs of the patient and responsive to Trust requirements.

Monitor and update 18 weeks and LROs. T

o ensure all clinic prep is completed prior to patient’s outpatient appointment.                      

Support the Senior Medical Secretary with any duties as required and to cover for the Senior Medical Secretary in their absence.

Education & Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Qualified to Level 2/GCSE level or equivalent which includes Maths and English
  • RSA II or equivalent typing / word processing qualification
  • Audio typing qualification or significant recent audio typing experience
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ/BTEC Level 2 in Business Administration

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidenced significant recent secretarial / administration experience
  • Experience of working with general public and/or NHS professionals
  • Demonstrate and understanding of customer care/ability to work with sensitive and confidential information
  • Experience of using MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
Desirable criteria
  • Recent experience of Trust IT systems – incl Medway, E-track, Scrik / Epro and ICE
  • Experience of working in the NHS and understanding of medical terminology and national targets

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge /understanding of Information Governance and GDPR
  • Ability to teach others acquired knowledge and skills
  • Ability to facilitate change within the work area
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge /understanding of Trust IT systems
