Trosolwg o'r swydd

**Secondment Opportunity**

*Previous applicants need not apply*

I’m Siobhan, Ward Manager at Springbank, and I am really excited to advertise this post. I have loved being the Ward Manager for this exceptional ward. I am leaving the role for a Service Manager position and, if you are successful, I will be your new manager.

Springbank is a 12-bed inpatient recovery unit for women with a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder (BPD) who are struggling to cope with the demands of life outside the hospital, despite input from community psychiatric services. I have worked as Springbank Ward Manager for 5 years, before which, I worked on the ward as a Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager. I have loved my time on Springbank because it has given me the opportunity to develop my skills within specialist services, both clinically and operationally and I have been a part of many successful recovery journeys for our patients.

We run an award-winning service with an engaged and innovative multidisciplinary team. We are always looking to develop and improve service delivery. I would encourage you to apply for this role if you have an interest in working with service users with a diagnosis of BPD and if you are looking for an opportunity to support the development of a team and clinical practice. We would encourage you to make this role your own to lead this fantastic team.

As Ward Manager, clear communication and relationship building are key skills. We will need you to work in partnership with the Ward Consultant and MDT in managing patient referrals and assessments from CPFT and out of area patients, ensuring suitability for admission to the ward and most importantly, to lead and develop your new team.

You will work in partnership with the consultant and multidisciplinary teams to ensure that expert leadership is demonstrated which meets the holistic health needs of adults within a Specialist Personality Disorder Unit. It will be essential to provide high visibility leadership, driving forward team developments by demonstrating an exemplar of expert practice, thereby energising and motivating staff to continually deliver person centred care of the highest quality.

You are the centre of the team and will need to be the glue holding the MDT together. Your team will expect you to provide expert advice, ensure high-quality student placements, manage the roster effectively and enhance the service to support the delivery of outstanding care.

Finally, you will be responsible for the provision of high-quality care on the ward. We will look to you to ensure the correct support is provided for patients and their families/carers, the ward is running safely and smoothly, research and innovation is encouraged and supported, and the ward is governed appropriately.
