Materials Management Supervisor

Job overview

We are looking for motivated, self-starting, resourceful
individual who are keen to join a growing Procurement and Supply Chain department to deliver value through the execution and delivery of strategic business intelligence, procurement and category management.

The Materials Management Supervisor, will report to the Supply Chain Managers; with responsibility for the delivery and development of efficient and effective services, with robust systems and processes.

 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will act as co-supervisor for the Materials Management ATC Theatre, Neuro Theatre & Radiology Top-Up services facilitated by the Procurement & Supply Chain team, alongside a colleague.

The role has a focus on rostering, planning and day to day co-ordination of the top-up team.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent level of education
Desirable criteria
  • ECDL (European Computer Driving License) – or equivalent
  • CILT (Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport) Level 2 or higher – or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience with the Supervision, organisation and review of the work activities of team members. Prioritisation of workload activities in order to achieve agreed service levels.
  • Interpretation and explanation of policies and procedures to team members.
  • Preparation of clear and concise reports.
  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of Supply Chains, stock control or purchasing/supply
  • Experience of working within a Stock Control, Purchase, supply / logistics environment
  • Experience of NHS Purchase Order/stock control systems

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Clear understanding of stock keeping and stock management techniques including a clear understanding of FIFO and stock rotation methods
  • Understanding of Materials Management processes and associated workflow.
  • Knowledge of software based Inventory Management programmes
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Link training experience
  • NHS Supply Chain process knowledge

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Well developed organisational and time management skills.
  • Good keyboard and computer literacy skills.
  • The ability to motivate and supervise teams of people working to tight time schedules.
Desirable criteria
  • A well-developed attention to detail.
  • Ability to write and review processes and procedures.
