Job overview
The Supply Chain function of Cambridge University Hospital (CUH) manages the procurement and internal services to supply medical, clinical and surgical consumables, non-medical consumables and all other non-capital products to all the departments across specialties within CUH.
Main duties of the job
The person fulfilling the role of Deputy Supply Chain Manager with responsibility for managing materials management and fulfilment processing will be responsible for maintaining required availability of clinical, medical and surgical consumable materials across all wards, clinics and Theatres across CUH while continuing to identify and implement improvements in materials management operational practices. This role is focused on Theatre activities specifically.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- A-Level or equivalent higher education
Desirable criteria
- NVQ level 3 in Logistics Operations Management
- Member of the (or studying towards) the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS)
- Member of the (or studying towards) the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of Supply Chains, stock control management systems and purchasing/supply
- Previous Logistics and Supply Chain experience within a complex organisation
- Business requirement analysis and process reengineering
- Deputising in a Managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Analysis of statistical data and present clear and concise reports across the organisation.
- Experience of working as part of a multi disciplinary team
- Proven experience of people management.
Desirable criteria
- NHS Procurement / NHS Materials Management / NHS Logistics experience
- Experience of project management
- Training and education delivery
- Experience of working as part of a change management process
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Strong organisational/motivational management skills
- Working knowledge of Supply chain Concepts
