Clinical Nurse Specialist - Stoma Care

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Stoma Care to join our well established, friendly and innovative team.

We seek an experienced and highly motivated individual with experience in stoma care and colorectal surgery. You will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work well and autonomously within a small team. In this role you will collaborate with the Colorectal MDT, other specialist teams and wards to deliver expert stoma care, support enhanced recovery, and assist patients with colorectal conditions. You will provide stoma care in paediatrics and adults ensuring a smooth service pathway and facilitating safe discharge and ongoing support through nurse-led clinics. Additionally you will contribute to departmental research, quality improvement projects and delivery of education trust wide and nationally.

You will have at least two years’ experience working in digestive diseases and have worked as a stoma or colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialist/support nurse for a minimum of 12 months.

The post holder is a recognised expert in the specialty, responsible for assessing, developing and implementing specialist nursing care programmes.

Responsible for providing specialist advice, support and liaising with other staff including the provision of specialist education and training for staff across the East of England region.

Responsible for implementing a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care encompassing evidence based care.

Required to undertake research and lead clinical audits in own specialist area

To use time flexibly to ensure the service needs are met.
