Senior Sister/ Senior Charge Nurse - Respiratory Specialist Ward

A rare and exciting opportunity is available to join our Respiratory Specialist ward as a Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.

We are looking for a passionate and driven individual with excellent clinical and leadership skills to join our team as the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.

We are keen to recruit  an experienced nurse who will be a professional role model within the team, whose focus is on professional standards, staff and patient experience and delivery of high quality care.

You will be highly motivated, have excellent communication skills, have an ability to problem solve and work collaboratively as part of the MDT.

Ward N3 is a 25 bedded respiratory ward which encompasses an 8 bedded Acute Respiratory Unit .  The ward provides care to respiratory patients and the RCU offers increased monitoring abilities and staffing to care for level 2 patients in need of Acute NIV or a higher level of care.  

We are supported by a Pleural team, NIV physiotherapists, Respiratory Specialist Nurses and a highly skilled medical team.  

The successful candidate will benefit from a bespoke, individualised development plan to meet individual career goals.

To lead and co-ordinate a multidisciplinary team to ensure an optimum level of safe and effective patient care within budgetary resources
To assess care needs, to develop, to implement and evaluate programmes of care.
To escalate and manage demand for the service
To be responsible for all aspects of staff management and recruitment in line with HR policy.
To be responsible for all aspects of clinical governance and risk management within the unit.
