Deputy Procurement Systems Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to support the Senior Procurement Systems Manager in leading the delivery of a comprehensive service providing technical support, process transformation and business intelligence within Procurement & Supply Chain and to users throughout the trust. You will play a key role in driving the use of technology to implement process improvements, while providing leadership to the procurement systems team and support to colleagues across the department.

You will have great communication, organisational and technical skills, who enjoys working as part of a diverse team in a dynamic environment.

  • To provide efficient and effective support of the purchasing and stock management systems and their databases for the Trust, and improve the quality and consistency of the information displayed on the Trusts reporting software.
  • To drive the use of IT to facilitate implementation of more efficient working practices within Procurement, Materials Management Team, Theatres, Radiology & throughout the Trust.    Providing support for all purchasing/stock management system projects, activities and operations.  To analyse data, interpret and report on results.   
  • Using trust reporting tools to solve system problems and queries from trust system users. 
  • The Deputy Procurement Systems & BI Manager will be required to develop and be aware of relationships and service contracts with systems suppliers.
  • The Deputy Procurement Systems & BI Manager is expected to take an active interest in the development of their skills, experience and career.

  • Knowledge of a range of statistical/numerical techniques, procedure acquired through qualification to degree level equivalent relevant experience

  • ECDL qualified to level 2 or equivalent

Experience

  • Operations, services and activities of procurement & Stock management systems, software & hardware
  • Training of end users

  • Analysis of statistical data and present clear and concise across the organisation.
  • Perform arithmetic computations
  • Experience of working with procurement and stock management systems in a specialist procurement systems support role within a Procurement environment.

  • NHS experience
  • Experience in managing several client relationships at once, involving conflicting priorities.
  • Interpret and explain policies and procedures
  • Read, interpret and apply technical publications, manuals and other documents
  • Relational database experience

  • Operation of procurement and inventory management on an enterprise scale
