An exciting opportunity has arisen within Division D ophthalmology for a senior nurse who is highly motivated to join the team as a senior leader. You must be an innovative and hardworking  adult nurse with a broad range of skills and experiences. Interest in and experience of ophthalmology  would be a great asset.

You will be accountable for Ophthalmology providing clinical leadership and operational management across all elements of the service including pre- assessment, day surgery, urgent eye, outpatients, and ongoing care in order to ensure a professional, safe and efficient service to patients and staff, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.

You must possess and be able to demonstrate excellent leadership and management skills. We are seeking to appoint a compassionate and caring nurse who will be able to work closely with the Senior Team to deliver outstanding care.

Provide Innovative, Clinical, professional, and managerial leadership , providing a highly visible and authoritative presence ensuring the provision of high quality, responsive services with the needs of the patient at the center of care delivery.

Work in partnership with the Operations Manager and the Divisional Senior Management Team to ensure effective and efficient management of the department  to meet agreed targets within the resources available.

Be accountable for all clinical and non-clinical aspects of quality within the service.

Maintain a visible presence where patients, staff and visitors can turn for assistance and upon whom they can rely to ensure that the fundamental and specialist aspects of care are met.

This includes working clinical shifts.

Support the Head of Nurse nurse by leading and  developing nurses and nursing practice.

50% Clinical (Combination of rostered & supernumery.)

clinical in this context is a visible, tangible presence in a clinical area having 1:1 contact with patients, relatives and /or staff)
