An exciting opportunity has arisen for an obstetric and / or early pregnancy sonographer to join our team in the Rosie Ultrasound Department.

You will be highly motivated, a great communicator and willing to teach.  You will work closely with the Fetal Medicine Department and Early Pregnancy Unit.  Able to work as part of a small team in a high pressured and emotive environment.

Please note this is not a training position. Applications will only be considered from those who have a post graduate qualification in 
Obstetric Ultrasound (at least 1 year in length). 

Main duties of the job

To participate in the delivery of a high quality responsive ultrasound service, managing an unpredictable workload according to department needs for the Trust.

To be responsible for carrying out early pregnancy and / or obstetric ultrasound scans to include dating / NT measurement, fetal anomaly screening and third trimester. The post will include some weekend work to cover the early pregnancy assessment service.

To join a multidisciplinary team participating in service delivery, teaching, research, audit and management activities as required.

To independently undertake ultrasound examinations, communicating the results to patients and other staff. Make appropriate clinical decisions about further actions or referrals in accordance with local and National guidelines.

To provide high quality training to relevant staff in all aspects of obstetric and / or early pregnancy scanning.
