We have a secondment or fixed term opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Gynaecology division as the Gynaecology Outpatients Senior Sister/Charge Nurse within the Rosie Hospital to cover maternity leave.
You will provide expert leadership to a very busy Gynaecology Outpatient department. You will work collaboratively with the Operational team and the Matron for Fertility & Gynaecology to ensure optimal patient experience, supporting with waiting lists. You will ensure the department has the equipment and resources to support the Nursing and HCSW teams in the provision of outpatient and ambulatory diagnostic clinics.
This is a Monday to Friday role.

Main duties of the job
We are searching for an experienced Gynaecology Nurse who is able to undertake excellent clinical care, in an outpatient ambulatory setting whilst undertaking the additional admin roles expected at this level, including but not limited to shift rostering, staff appraisals, staff training, sickness management and recruitment of staff.
The successful candidate should be proficient in skills such as venepuncture & cannulation, drug administration and possess excellent communication and administrative skills. You will be working closely with the Multi-disciplinary teams to ensure an excellent provision of service across all Gynaecology Specialities including Reproductive Medicine, Uro-gynaecology and Gynae-Oncology.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- RN Adult with current NMC registration
- Teaching/Assessing/mentoring qualification
- Possession of a relevant first degree or working towards
- Leadership or management training
- Evidence of on-going CPD
Desirable criteria
- MSc in relevant subject or willingness to undertake masters level modules
- Qualification in Women’s Health
- Sexual health or contraceptive qualification
- Management Leadership qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable experience of taking charge of a department and deputizing for the department Senior Sister
- Experience of leading and managing a team of nurses.
- Experience of managing clinical incident investigation and complaints
- Experience of recruitment and interviewing
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of change management and problem solving
- Previous experience of service development
- Previous experience of research and audit
- Worked within an Early Pregnancy Unit, Gynaecology Ward or clinic
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Basic life support
- Understanding of professional and current issues in Women’s Health with regard to the nursing of Early Pregnancy, gynaecological procedures and emergencies.
- Understanding of resource management, health and safety, clinical risk and quality issues
- Level 3 safeguarding training
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of audit and research methodologies
